The Kickstarter website can be confusing. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you:
1: Go to the Kickstarter page
In this case, click here to go to the page for King Arthur vs Devil Kitty.
2: Create an account
To create an account, first you need to click on the “Log in” link in the top right-hand corner of the page.

If you don’t already have a Kickstarter account then click on the “Sign up” link near the bottom of the page. (If you do already have an account, then enter your email and password to log in).

Fill in your name and email address and choose a password (you will be asked to type email and password twice, to be double-sure you get it right):

Once you have done that, click on the “Create account” button:

You should now get an email from Kickstarter asking you to verify your email address. In that email, click on the “Complete verification” button.

If you can’t find the email, first check in your spam folder. If you can’t find it there, go back to the Kickstarter site and at the top of the page should be a link for resending the email:

3. Back the project
Once you are logged in, go back to the Kickstarter page for the project you want to back – in this case, click here to go to the page for King Arthur vs Devil Kitty.
Next click on the “Back this project” button. Depending on the size of your screen, this will either be on the right-hand side near the top of the page, or in the centre slightly further down, as in these two examples:

You will be taken to a page with a list of different pledges on it, for differing amounts of money. For example, the paperback book for £13, the hardback for £19, etc.
Choose a reward by clicking on it, e.g in this case I’m choosing the hardback:

You will then be shown how much postage will cost, and you’ll be given the opportunity to donate extra money if you want to (if you really want to help the creator and ensure that the campaign succeeds). Once you’re reviewed these, click on the “Pledge” button:

You will then be given a choice of add-ons, each with a price next to it. You don’t have to pick any of these, or you can choose as many as you want. For each add-on you’d like to include, click the “Add” button at the bottom of its box. Here we’ll choose the first two:

Once you’ve chosen your add-ons (or if you don’t want any add-ons), click the “Continue” button, either on the right or at the bottom of the page.

You’ll now be taken to the payment page. Fill in your credit/debit card details:

Once you’ve filled in all of your payment details, and checked the tickbox “I understand…” then the Pledge button will become enabled. Click on it:

At this point, you may have to confirm the payment with your bank or credit/debit card company. It will show up as a payment of £0 – don’t worry, this is because the actual payment won’t be taken until the Kickstarter campaign has finished.
4 – Thank you!
That’s it! Thank you! You should receive an email with details of your pledge, and you’ll see a thank-you page a little like the one below. Now… don’t forget to head over to the King Arthur vs Devil Kitty page and put all of this into action!

Please note that Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform, not a shop – this means that your money will only be collected from your account if and when the campaign is completely funded. Once this happens, the book will go into production, and you will received it in November or December 2023.
