Collection: Terry Howard
Rambler, campaigner and historian Terry Howard was Born in Intake, Sheffield, in 1945, and grew up in Parson Cross. He led his first walk at the age of 15. In the decades since then, he has led countless expeditions through Sheffield, the Peak District, and beyond, for The Woodcraft Folk, The Ramblers, and others, inspiring several generations and giving many people their first taste of the Great Outdoors.
Peakrill Press have published new editions of his classic books A Moorland Notebook (1993, updated 2025) and An Inner City Round Walk of Sheffield (1996, updated 2023) , and we are also selling copies of Clarion Call: Sheffield’s Access Pioneers (2017), which he co-authored. He has contributed to many other publications including Freedom of the Moors (1988).
